How many years of paid handyman, construction, or maintenance experience do you have?
Which of the following tasks are you comfortable performing? (Check all that apply)
A client calls saying the toilet you rebuilt last week is running again. You replaced all internal components and verified a perfect seal and flush before leaving. What is your first course of action?
Pull up the job record and before/after photos, then call the client to walk through a few quick checks (supply valve, flapper chain, water level) to rule out simple adjustments before scheduling a return.
Let the client know all workmanship is covered, and schedule a no‑charge return visit within the next business day to diagnose and correct the issue—no phone troubleshooting needed.
Explain that while you stand behind your work, if the cause is unrelated to the original repair (e.g., a new water pressure spike or a part defect), a standard service call fee will apply for the return visit.
Ask the client if they've recently used any in‑tank cleaning tablets or adjusted anything themselves; if so, suggest they monitor it for 24 hours before booking a follow‑up.
Are you willing to submit to a criminal background check and motor vehicle record check before a job offer?
Do you have a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record? (no DUIs in last 5 years; no more than 2 moving violations in last 3 years).
